Specialized Signs has had the privilege to work with Celtic Football Club on a number of projects in the recent years. From stadium banners to rebranding their stores around the city of Glasgow, we’ve worked with a range of materials on different scales.
The two large-scale stadium banners that are installed at the front of Celtic Park display at an impressive 8.5 meters tall, and the designs are printed on 500gsm PVC banner material and installed with a countless amount of banner clips each. The artwork is changed twice a year, one design is used for the majority of each season, only to have a brief change over the Christmas period.
So far, we’ve produced and installed signage at two locations, Braehead Shopping Centre and Glasgow Airport. The rebranding projects gave a sleek and modern refresh to both Celtic FC stores. With new graphics displaying the details of the club’s achievements over years on the staff doors, printed light grey brickwork vinyl flooding every wall that brightened up the formerly dark wood panelling, cut vinyl quotes applied around the inside of the store and brand new internally illuminated push through fascias for the front of each store.
The main folded fascias consist of 3 pieces of information, the club’s name, the Celtic FC crest and the 3-stripe Adidas logo. The details of the Celtic FC crest are cut out of printed matt BF vinyl (printed the same colour as the additional printed vinyl we use to wrap the tray panels) and face applied to the opal acrylic roundel – the BF vinyl is dense and won’t allow light to shine through it, this means that only the fine white details of the crest illuminate and gives the graphic a nice amount of depth.
Each project we work on for the club, whether small scale or a full site renovation, sparks our interest and gives each department within Specialized Signs a fun and rewarding challenge, from the early design stages to final installation.
