Convenience store signage plays a vital role in attracting customers and enhancing their shopping experience and Greens of Aberdour is certainly a standout example of how effective various forms of external and internal signage can be used to really capture the community and passing customers to visit the store.

Greens of Aberdour uses a multitude of various signage types on three elevations of the shop – really maximising the visibility of the store – helping customers locate the store easily from a distance – this is vital for any store – attracting potential new custom from passing drivers or pedestrians look for a quick stop.

The front elevation of the building welcomes shoppers with a built-up rim and return illuminated Greens of Aberdour Logo mounted on to rails. Alongside is a sign tray with flat cut text on locators finished off with a powered coated trough light to keep colour consistent. There are also three folded graphic panels at over 2m wide show casing what the store has to offer inside. The front elevation is finished off with some printed vinyl graphics applied internally to the sliding doors and a reverse cut frosted Greens ‘G’ incorporating the brand combining functionality with style.

The side elevation continues to showcase a taste of the services and products on offer through the use of three folded trays each with flat cut letters and powder coated trough lights to match. All windows have also been utilised by vinyl prints – displaying consistent and well-designed branding – creating a cohesive experience – helping customers form a positive association with the brand.

Lastly the gable end is home to a large service panel displaying clearly at a glance the stores services inclusive of key information such an opening times while incorporating way finding to the stores entrance.

Internally the store offers clear signage using flat cut white letters bonded directly onto the wooden slat panel bulkheads aiding customers to navigate the layout and directing them to key areas within the store enhancing their overall shopping experience. The Fisher and Donaldson cabinet is also branded – wrapped in brand colours finished off with cut vinyl graphics.

Usually, the firm takes on stores that are currently trading, but this site was acquired as an empty shell and was built from a blank canvas thoroughly representing an excellent example of how signage can be used as a powerful tool not only to attract customers but also enhance their experience, build brand loyalty, and ultimately drives sales.
