Convenience Store Signage – Premier Case Study

For over two years, Specialized Signs has been working closely with Booker Retail to rebrand and create a large number of Convenience Store Signage forPremier stores across the country.

From Aberdeen to Dumfries our Project Managers and Installers have travelled thousands of miles to help give these stores a new life that will last our clients for years to come.

At home in Edinburgh, our Designers have worked closely with our PM’s and Booker to follow and adapt the store artwork across each site, with different variations including non-illuminated, illuminated and conservation area elements, our Designers have learned the brand guidelines of the Premier artwork like the backs of their hands.

Within the Premier brand, we can produce 3 different fascia types for their stores. The first, and most used, being a non-illuminated purple and yellow fascia with both direct to substrate printed elements for the logo and vinyl text for the store names and opening times. The second is an internally illuminated version of the former – replacing the printed logo and vinyl text with fret-cut panels and backing them in opal acrylic. The third and final variation is for conservation areas – for these fascia signs we swap the classic purple and yellow branding for a black and white version of the artwork.

Premier are also one of the few brands we work with that use both matte and gloss finishes across all of their stores. With all external graphics having a gloss finish and the internals being matte. This creates a nice contrast with each store we produce and thanks to our high-tech facilities at our Newbridge HQ, we can fulfil Bookers bespoke requirements.

There are also non-illuminated and illuminated versions of their internal perimeter graphics that guide customers to each section of the store. The non-illuminated versions are made from 5mm black foamex panels and have cut white vinyl text overlaid on top. The illuminated versions are slightly bigger and consist of folded ACM sign trays and 10mm push through text which is then internally illuminated with white LED modules. Both versions of these graphics are highly effective finishes and grab viewers attention when visiting the stores.

The past couple years working with Booker have allowed Specialized Signs to really push what we’re capable of producing, both product and time-frame wise across every department. With new and exciting opportunities coming through the door daily for this brand, we’re all looking forward to seeing where we head next with Premier.
