One of the most important aspects of running a business is having a reliable accountancy software program that works efficiently to suit the needs of your business and here at Specialized Signs we use SAGE 50 Accounts. 

This enables us to email proformas/invoices/statements/remittances to our customers and suppliers as well as being able to collate historic reports for them which highlight outstanding monies owed to the business as well as outward costs. Credit limits can also be set so that if these are exceeded, an alert is shown on the account. Each invoice also shows a detailed account of who entered it on SAGE, the net amount, VAT amount, date it was sent to the customer/supplier and when the payment was allocated as well as how it was paid e.g. BACS, card payment, cash. This helps provide traceability should a query arise regarding payment. The system also allows you to personalise your invoices, statements, remittances with your own logos, bank details and payment terms.

Each invoice created on SAGE can be allocated to a specific nominal code which shows how much is being spent on different aspects of the business which helps when trying to control your cashflow.  Different posting details can also be set for different departments or staff members so that staff/team activity in sales can be monitored.

Numerous different bank accounts can also be set up on the system e.g. main account, small account, petty cash, so that outgoing/incoming payments can be allocated, and it enables you to see immediately, each balance and make a transfers between accounts if need be.  This also makes the accounts easier to reconcile as well as helping to keep a better control of your cashflow.    

SAGE Accounts is a recognised software by HMRC and all latest legislation is reflected in this so VAT/Year End reports can be processed without the risk of errors as they are both directly linked to one another.  Trial balances of your turnover can be accessed at any point which is extremely beneficial when looking at your profits and losses.

This system is extremely easy to use and there is remote support should you need it from one of their experienced staff members and their website details a vast amount of information you can refer to.  It also works in conjunction with our CRM software package Clarity and most reports from SAGE can be sent to an excel spreadsheet which can be helpful if not everyone has access to SAGE.
