Why a Site Survey Can Make or Break Your Signage Project
It’s easy to get excited about the design of a new sign, colours, fonts, finishes. But while you fall in love with the visual pack our designers put together, there’s one step you can’t afford to skip: The Site Survey.

Here’s why a site survey is paramount in the Specialized Signs Process:
- Measure twice, cut once. We make sure that every element of your signage pack is specific to the measurements of your site, so we know that everything will fit on installation day.
- We check every surface prior to installation to allow time for any repair works to be carried out, avoiding potential delays to the job. Is your fascia boarding sturdy or does it need replaced? Will your ceiling support the heavy handing sign we have drawn up? Will imperfections in your paintwork show through your new wallpaper?
- We assess the environment in real life. Will your sign be seen from the road? Is the lighting going to compete with your illuminated sign? Could your sign be at risk in a high wind area?
- We consider every element of the installation process, walking the site as the fitters will on install day. Identifying the power supplies, considering the height of the sign and how we will reach it safely, working out access to site, down to where we can park the van.
- Relationship Building. We want you to fully understand the scope of the works and give you the opportunity to raise any questions before you part with any money. Our intention is build a strong professional relationship and open doors for any future projects.
Skipping the site survey may seem like a way to cut costs, however it’s like building a house without checking the land first, the chances are, it’ll cost you more time and money in the long run.
A great sign doesn’t just happen in the workshop; the foundations are build with our Project Managers applying their extensive knowledge to your project.
